ORCA
ORGANIZATION FOR RESEARCH AND CONSERVATION OF AQUATIC ANIMALS

SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS

The research conducted by the Science & Animal Welfare Department started the foundation of what ORCA is today, setting the background for our biological, medical and environmental assessment through seven long-term research programs. Our programs are closely linked together, connecting animal health, public health and environmental health under the current concept of ONE HEALTH.

SCIENCE PROGRAMS

As part of our objective to provide educational opportunities to deploy initiatives or being part of something bigger. Our students from around the world manage exclusive data to publish for many of them their first time and publication experience. The Biennial Conference on the Biology of Marine Mammals is the main scientific event in which ORCA's research team presents our findings, scientific work and vanguard discoveries in the lost frontier of the Peruvian South Pacific, representing marine mammals.

70 CONFERENCE PUBLICATIONS

Our programs range from monitoring health of individual marine mammals and their populations, to registration of strandings, medical assessment of both dead and alive cases.
