ORCA presents the marine patients sea-lion of the Prom 2019!
The 2019 season was a very intense one, with waves of sea-lions appearing stranded along the second specially during the second part of the year. Mostly suffering from human impact, from concussion to flipper wounds produced by nets, many of our marine patients were orphaned due mother killed by fishermen. ORCA provided the nurtuing, support and health caring to each of them to the best of their recovery so they can survive when back into the ocean.

LUPITA
MIRAFLORES, Lima. A young female sea-lion that suffered a concussion when interacting with fisheries.

ELLA
MIRAFLORES, Lima. This juvenile females was very independent, but like most of the sea-lions this year, she was malnourished and gastritic. She recovered rapidly, one of the fastest of the season, and was releass at Sleepy Lion beach south of the city, away from humans.

KIPPER
MIRAFLORES, Lima. The first sea-lion of the winter season, he appeared in a surfing beach, almost unconcious.

VALIENTE
PUNTA HERMOSA, Lima. A transient sea-lion in the southern beaches, he recived ambulatory treatment for a mild concussion.

BARRANCO, Lima. The smallest one of the group, lonely and orphaned needed to learn how to catch fish with us. Released: August 11th, 2019 |

PUNTA HERMOSA, Lima. Found very sad after his mother was killed, needed special psycho-etological support to overcome the stranding trauma. And he did. Released: August 11th, 2019 |

JEFFERY
VILLA, Lima. He was alone trying to survive by its own, but unable to fish and too weak, needed medical attention. Released: September 14th, 2019 |

NOAH
PUNTA HERMOSA, Lima. Found struggling with an incident with an stingray that punctured his head. Luckyly, medical attention arrived fast to remove a 18cm (6inches) long spike embeded in his head outside the skull. He was the very special sea-lion with the nmber 200! Released: August 14th, 2019 |

VILLA, Lima. A very curious and intrepid sea-lion, he was rescued after breaking into a beach house garden, exhausted. He gain weight, health and wit to return to the ocean! Released: October 16th, 2019 |

PUNTA HERMOSA, Lima. A gentle sea-lion, he recovered from a kidney infection and learned how to eat fish, successfully returning to the ocean. Released: November 21st, 2019 |

PUNTA HERMOSA, Lima. Found among the rocks at the edge of a dry river-mouth, she was rescued and rehabilitated at our Center. Released: November 21st, 2019 |

PUNTA HERMOSA, Lima. She was rescued from an beach near the island of Punta Hermosa and recovered from a craneal trauma due human aggression. She recovered all her abilities and returne home at the end of the year! Released: December 2nd, 2019 |
